Sportsmanship
According to the Iowa Soccer Association rules, we are required to inform our members about sportsmanship and misconduct. Referee bashing will not be tolerated. Each club in the ISA is responsible for the conduct of players, coaches, and spectators. In doing so, we need to inform everyone that unsporting behavior or conduct will not be tolerated by the MCSC.
Coaches are responsible for their teams. Fighting will not be tolerated by the MCSC. The referee has the right to eject any coach or player, or terminate a game for reasons of unsporting like conduct. Any problems or issues should be brought to the MCSC Board of Directors. The problem will be addressed by the Disciplinary Committee. Any further action will be decided by the ISA.
Some soccer clubs have problems with sideline behavior during games. MCSC has high expectations, with the top priority being good sportsmanship displayed by all our youth in Oskaloosa. We want all members to remain calm, not become too intense or agitated, and to let the referee be in control of the game. If necessary it would be acceptable for one member to approach another and defuse the situation. This game is for the kids and if they are not having fun they will end up quitting.
More information on this matter can be found at www.iowasoccer.org under Code of Conduct and under Rules and Regulations.
