Starting in the Fall 2016, there will be a new age group cut-off of January 1 (players born on or after January 1 are age eligible) will be consistent with the dates used internationally in forming youth soccer teams. All U.S. Soccer’s members are required to put the initiative into place.
Starting in the Fall 2026, USYS competition age groups will be structured based on the dates August 1-July 31. Beginning on 8/1/2026 all USYS competitions will use August 1-July 31to group players. All teams formed for the 2026/2027 seasonal year should be grouped based on these dates.
